He scored a power-play goal late in the second period to tie the game at 2-2, then tallied an assist on the overtime winner in Saturday’s 4-3 victory.
The Mission, B.C. native played three seasons with the Chilliwack Chiefs and was team captain his final year. He notched 95 points in 131 career regular-season games. In 2022-23, Wiebe led his team in scoring with 53 points, which was second among all BCHL blueliners, and was named the winner of the Campbell Blair Trophy as the league’s top defenceman.
