The first NCAA Roundup of 2026 features a multitude of BCHL alumni honoured through monthly and weekly conferences awards in college hockey. In total, nine former BCHLers earned a total of 10 awards, including a clean sweep of the Atlantic Hockey monthly honours.
NCHC Goaltender of the Month
Quentin Miller – Freshman – University of Denver (Chilliwack Chiefs)
Miller repeats as Goaltender of the Month after posting a 3-1-0 record in December, starting all four games for Denver. The Montreal Canadiens draft pick led all NCHC goalies with a minimum of two games played in December with both a .940 save percentage and a 1.80 goals-against average, while his three wins tied for first. Miller was also the lone NCHC netminder to record a shutout during the month.
The Montreal, Que. native played the 2024-25 campaign with the Chilliwack Chiefs where he suited up for 10 regular season games down the stretch after returning from injury, posting a .923 save percentage, 2.29 goals-against average and an 8-2-0 record. In the playoffs, he was strong as well, going 14-9-0 with a .925 save rate, guiding the Chiefs to the championship series.
ECAC Hockey Forward of the Month
Kai Daniells – Junior – Princeton University (Nanaimo Clippers)
Daniells ended December with three goals, three assists and a plus-five rating in three games. His most notable performance was a two-goal, one assist outing against Brown on Dec. 28 to close out 2025. Daniells currently leads Princeton in goals (13) and points (23).
The Whistler, B.C. native played three campaigns with the Nanaimo Clippers from 2020 to 2023, with his best output coming in 2022-23 where he finished as the BCHL’s fifth-leading scorer with 71 points in 54 games, while his 35 goals on the year were fourth most in the league.
Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Month and Rookie of the Month
Teagan Kendrick – Freshman – Sacred Heart University (Trail Smoke Eaters)
In three games last month, Kendrick posted a 1-1-1 record and posted a 2.30 goals-against average, a .918 save percentage and had the second-most saves in the conference with 78. This is the first monthly award for the St. Albert, Alta. native.
Kendrick played three seasons with the Trail Smoke Eaters from 2022 to 2025 and finished his BCHL stint with a 49-34-9 record and a .908 save percentage. In 2024-25, the 2004-born netminder posted a career best .915 save percentage and a 2.69 goals-against average and was the recipient of the Michael Garteig Trophy as the league’s top goaltender.
Atlantic Hockey Forward of the Month
Felix Trudeau – Senior – Sacred Heart University (West Kelowna Warriors)
Trudeau tied for the second-most points in the Atlantic Hockey conference during 2025’s final month, registering four points on three goals and one assist over three games played.
The Terrebonne, Que. product played the 2021-22 season with the West Kelowna Warriors. He led the team in scoring that season, and also finished tied for 10th overall in the league, with 61 points in 49 contests.
Atlantic Hockey Defenceman of the Month
Michael Craig – Junior – Robert Morris University (Nanaimo Clippers)
Craig tied for the conference lead in points among blueliners with three in three contests, all coming via assists. The St. Catharines, Ont. native tallied a point in each game he skated in during December.
The 23-year-old competed with the Nanaimo Clippers for three seasons from 2020 to 2023, acting as team captain his final year with the team. Over his BCHL career, he collected 82 points in 110 games.
Hockey East Rookie of the Month
Parker Lalonde (F) – Freshman – Merrimack College (Powell River/Brooks)
Lalonde paced all Hockey East players with five assists in four games in December, helping Merrimack go 3-1-0. His six points were second-best of any first-year player. Lalonde ended the month on a run with three straight multi-point games, scoring one goal and adding five helpers in a trio of wins for the Warriors.
The 2004-born forward played four seasons in the BCHL, the first two with the Powell River Kings and the final two with the Brooks Bandits. His last year in the league, he tied for fifth in goal scoring with 32 in 50 games. In the 2025 postseason, he led all players with 31 points in 21 contests and was named postseason MVP, helping the Bandits to a championship in their first full season in the league.
Hockey East Defender of the Week
Frank Djurasevic – Junior – University of Maine (Penticton Vees)
Djurasevic tied for the national lead with eight blocked shots, while helping Maine go undefeated at Denver. He scored the game-tying goal with less than three minutes to play on Saturday in a 3-3 draw and had a combined four shots on goal and a plus-two rating over the weekend.
The New Rochelle, N.Y. product played three seasons with the Penticton Vees from 2020 to 2023 and totaled 85 points in 127 career games. He won a pair of Rogers BCHL Cup championships, one as team captain during the 2023 postseason where he was the league’s top scoring defenceman with 14 points in 17 games.
CCHA Goaltender of the Week
Rorke Applebee – Sophomore – Lake Superior State University (West Kelowna Warriors)
Applebee went 2-0 last week, posting league-bests in goals-against average (0.98) and save percentage (.973), stopping a league-high 72 shots across 122:36 minutes. On Saturday, he made 29 saves in a 2-1 overtime victory over Northern Michigan, then stopped 43 of 44 shots in a 2-1 victory on Sunday.
Applebee played the 2023-24 campaign with the West Kelowna Warriors and logged the most minutes by any BCHL netminder. He posted a 24-6-8 record with a 2.63 goals-against average (fifth in the league) and three shutouts.
ECAC Hockey Defender of the Week
Tyler Rubin – Senior – Princeton University (West Kelowna Warriors)
Rubin tallied three assists in the Tigers weekend sweep over Harvard and Dartmouth. On Friday night, he assisted on his team’s first goal and later earned a helper on the game-tying goal in an eventual 5-4 win. The next day, he tallied an assist on the Tigers power play in a 3-2 victory.
Before heading to college, Rubin played the 2021-22 campaign with the West Kelowna Warriors. He scored eight goals and added 26 assists for 34 points in 50 games and was named to the league’s All-Rookie Team.
