The BCHL has announced the rosters for the league’s Alumni & Friends Game on Jan. 18 at Rogers Rink in Salmon Arm, B.C. as part of All-Star Weekend, presented by Westland Insurance.
The game will be 3-on-3 and feature a team of Silverbacks alumni facing off against a squad of BCHL alumni and special guests.
The rosters are highlighted by former NHL players, a country music star and a group of former BCHLers that made their mark in the league and beyond.

Geoff Courtnall: After starting his junior hockey career in Cowichan Valley, Courtnall embarked on a 16-year NHL journey, scoring 30 goals on six separate occasions. Most notably, he was a key part of the Vancouver Canucks 1994 playoff run where they made it to the Stanley Cup Finals. He returned to the BCHL after his playing career to coach the Victoria Grizzlies for two seasons from 2007 to 2009.
Chad Brownlee: After his two seasons with the Vernon Vipers, Brownlee was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the sixth round. He played four years at Minnesota State University and one more professionally before trading in his hockey stick for a guitar. Since then, he has become a country music superstar, winning and being nominated for several awards over the years.
Andrew Ebbett: Ebbett was a goal-scoring machine during his one year in the BCHL with the Silverbacks, scoring 45 to finish two back of the league lead. He played four years at the University of Michigan, then played 15 years of professional hockey, including stops in the NHL, AHL and in Europe. Near the end of his career, he represented Canada at the 2018 Olympic Games in PyeongChang, Korea, winning a bronze medal.
Dave Tomlinson: Tomlinson starred in the BCHL during his two seasons in the league, then went on to play four years at Boston University before getting his shot in the NHL for four seasons. He is now the colour commentator for the Vancouver Canucks on Sportsnet.
Adrian Veideman: In both of his BCHL seasons, Veideman finished top-five in defencemen scoring. He went on to play four years at the University of Denver, winning the national championship twice during his tenure. He played nine seasons professionally and was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team and First-Team All-Stars during his career.
Brendon Nash: Nash spent two productive seasons in Salmon Arm before graduating to Cornell University where he spent another four years. After that, he played 10 seasons professionally, highlighted by a pair of NHL games with the Montreal Canadiens. He is the brother of former Silverback and longtime NHLer Riley Nash.
Angus Redmond: Redmond was a workhorse starting goaltender for the ‘Backs during his tenure with the team. After one year of college hockey at Michigan Tech, he embarked on a five-year professional career. He is currently in his third season coaching back in Salmon Arm. He will be a skater and not a goalie during the Alumni & Friends Game.
Kip Noble: After one BCHL season with the Kelowna Packers, Noble started an impressive college career with Michigan Tech University. He piled up 123 points in 156 games over four years and still holds several scoring records for defencemen at the program. Noble was inducted to the Michigan Tech University Hall of Fame in 2018. He returned to the BCHL in 2022-23 as an assistant coach with Salmon Arm for one season.
Chris Crowell: Crowell spent four years with the Vernon Vipers and was team captain his final season in 2008-09, leading the team to their first of three straight BCHL championships. After that, he played four years at the University of Alaska-Anchorage, two as team captain.
Cody Bostock: Bostock totaled 134 points in 209 games over his four-year BCHL career, then played four seasons at Bemidji State University.
Kevin Kraus: Kraus played parts of three seasons for the Vernon Vipers and won two Fred Page Cup championships. His best campaign was 2009-10 when he put up 27 points in 55 games.
Mike Puddifant: After a four-year BCHL career playing for four different teams, Puddifant played for Westfield State University (NCAA Division III) for one season and then another three at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).
