Sherwood Park’s Roest named Alberta Division Player of the Week

Sherwood Park Crusaders goaltender Erick Roest has been named the BCHL’s Alberta Division Player of the Week, ending Feb. 11.

In two starts last week, the Lethbridge, Alta. native stopped 63 of the 66 shots he faced, posting a .955 save percentage and a 1.51 goals-against average with a 1-1-0 record.

In last Wednesday’s contest against the Blackfalds Bulldogs, Roest made 28 saves on 29 shots to lead his team to a 4-1 victory on home ice to earn his first win in the BCHL.

On Friday, Sherwood Park hosted the Brooks Bandits where the 19-year-old faced 47 shots and only let two by him. He was named first star of the game in a losing effort as the Crusaders dropped the contest by a 3-1 final.
