The Prince George Spruce Kings would like to congratulate Rhonda Underwood, Ron McCabe and Paulette McCabe, all of Prince George, as the latest winners in the Spruce Kings Show Home Lottery.
On Sunday January 31, 2010, ticket number 4842 was drawn for the early bird prize of a Mexican Riveria Cruise for two from Japatedon Travel & Cruises. The winning ticket was purchased at the Show Home located at 2638 Links Drive in the Aberdeen Glen Subdivision.
“They were very surprised and extremely happy,” said Spruce Kings Show Home Lottery manager Jim Young after talking with Ron McCabe. “He told me that he hasn’t won anything before and this was certainly the biggest lottery prize that he has ever won.”
The early bird prize, valued at $4696.00 including departure from Prince George, is the ninth of ten early bird prizes leading up to the grand prize of the $376,000 custom built 1501 square foot Show Home.
Built by Ebb Construction, the house features a number of touches from local businesses including an alarm system from Curtis Elite Alarms and seven appliances from the Northern Hardware. A washing machine and dryer, the fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave as well as a TV are all part of the grand prize that will be drawn on February 14, 2010.
“It is a very exciting time right now with the Lottery,” continued Young. “There isn’t much time and there certainly aren’t very many tickets available. Last week we had to close down the retail outlets in Prince George and when we get under 100 tickets we will have to close down the 24-hour phone line service as well.”
As of Sunday night’s draw there were only 138 tickets available for purchase in the 28th annual Prince George Spruce Kings Show Home Lottery. The next early bird prize draw is also the last early bird draw on Sunday February 7, 2010 for a Disney Family Vacation valued at $5,793.
On the following Sunday, February 14, the grand prize draw will be made at 8:00pm in the Show Home; everybody is welcome to come out and witness any of the draws.
