Coquitlam Express goalie Clay Stevenson has been named the FortisBC BCHL Player of the Month for the month of November.
The 20-year-old went a perfect 8-0 in the month, finishing with a .948 save percentage, a 1.35 goals-against average and two shutouts.
Stevenson’s best stretch came at the start of the month where he had two shutouts in three games and only let in one total goal over that stretch. On Nov. 1, he made 24 saves to earn the shutout in a 4-0 win over the West Kelowna Warriors. Two days later, Stevenson stopped 16 of 17 shots in a 4-1 road win over their Mainland Division rivals the Chilliwack Chiefs. His best performance of the month came the following week when he stopped all 34 shots he faced, backstopping the Express to a 5-0 victory against the Cowichan Valley Capitals.
After his stellar November, the Chilliwack, B.C. native leads the league in wins (19), save percentage (.944), goals-against average (1.44) and is tied for second in the BCHL with three shutouts.
