The Western Collegiate Hockey Association announced Thursday its all-conference 1st, 2nd, 3rd and all-rookie teams and three BCHL alums were included.
On the All-WCHA 2nd Team, Penticton Vees grad and former BCHL Interior MVP and Top Defenceman Joey Laleggia of the University of Denver was one of two BCHL alums included. The Burnaby, B.C. native and Edmonton Oilers draft pick was second on his team in scoring with 29 points which included 18 assists.
In the BCHL, Laleggia played 114 games and put up 33 goals and 114 assists for 147 points
Also on the 2nd Team was former Nanaimo Clippers blueliner Mike Boivin of Colorado College. The Delta, B.C. product scored 14 goals and 14 assists to lead all CC defencemen and put him fourth on the team in points.
In two BCHL seasons, with all but four games being played for the Clippers, Boivin scored 13 goals and 23 assists in 82 games.\
On the All-WCHA 3rd Team, Coquitlam Express product and former Coast MVP Alex Petan was one of the three forwards. The Delta native led the Michigan Tech Huskies in scoring with 15 goals and 18 assists in 34 games.
In three seasons with the Express, Petan posted 54 goals and 74 assists for 128 points in 155 games.
