Tychonick takes BCHLPOW honours

Penticton Vees defenceman Jonny Tychonick has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 21, the league announced Monday.

In helping the Vees to three wins in as many outings, Tychonick racked up three goals and four assists for seven points from the blueline. The 6-foot, 175-pounder had a goal and three assists and was 1st Star to open the week in a 4-1 road win over Prince George. He followed that with a goal and an assist in a 4-1 victory over Merritt and wrapped his week with the overtime game-winner and another 1st Star in a 2-1 win over Trail.

Tychonick leads the Vees with 26 assists on the season and is second in overall team scoring with 34 points in 35 games.
