Wenatchee Wild forward AJ Vanderbeck has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending April 15, the league announced Monday.
Vanderbeck posted three goals and two assists in the opening two games of the BCHL Final in Wenatchee. In Game 1, the 20-year-old from Monument, Colo. scored the second goal of the game for the Wild in their 4-0 win over the Prince George Spruce Kings. He followed that up in Game 2 with a four-point effort, scoring two goals, including the game winner, and adding two assists in Wenatchee’s 4-2 win over Prince George.
This weekend’s performance brings Vanderbeck’s playoff point total to 23 (10G, 13A), good enough to tie him for second-most in the league. Wenatchee currently leads the Fred Page Cup Final 2-0 heading to Prince George for Games 3 and 4 starting tonight at 7 p.m.
