After building their lead to 4-0 in the second period, the Vernon Vipers hung on for a one-goal road win over the Trail Smoke Eaters.
Adam Tambellini's second goal of the game at 7:39 of the second proved to be the final goal of the night for the visitors and also the winner. Tyler Berkholtz and Mitch Foyle got the Smokies back within two heading into the third where Luke Sandler brought them within one but it ended 4-3.
Austin Smith made 32 saves for the win while Marc Hetnik chipped in two helpers for the Snakes.
Philip Zielonka kept his goal-streak alive, now at 11 games, and snapped the Coquitlam Express' losing streak with an overtime winner against the visiting Powell River Kings. Matthew Dupont and Matt Scarth scored to tie the game after early power-play goals by Zach Pryzbek and Brandon Morley had put the Express up 2-0.
A four-goal second period completed a comeback in a 4-3 Prince George Spruce Kings road win over the Cowichan Valley Capitals. Jeremiah Luedtke scored the winner on the power play with three seconds left in the second period. Teal Burns, Kyle Horsman and Hayden-James Berra had given the Caps a 3-0 lead in the first.
With the outcome still in question heading into the third period in, Chilliwack Chiefs goals by Alexandre Perron-Fontaine and Trevor Hills put it out reach in a 6-3 win over the Langley Rivermen. Nathan Craft opened the scoring for Langley but the Chiefs led 2-1 after one and 4-3 after two. Mario Puskarich scored late in the second to maintain his lead in the scoring race over Chilliwack's Luke Esposito who had three assists on the evening.
The Fitzgerald triplets were named the 1st (Myles), 2nd (Leo) and 3rd (Gerry) Stars in a 3-2 overtime road win against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs but it was Jaden Schmeisser who got the winner at 1:49 of the extra session. Both Grizzlies regulation goals were scored by Myles with Gerry and Leo providing the assists each time. Jared Wilson and Matt Hansen scored the 'Dogs goals.
Sean Maaktak's second-period goal was the winner in a 3-2 Merritt Centennials home win over the Salmon Arm SilverBacks. Jeff Wright and Brent Fletcher staked the Cents to a 2-0 lead but Steven Iacobellis and Brandon Mistal replied to tie it for the 'Backs. Maaktak scored just under three minutes after Mistal's equalizer.
Sam Mellor's second goal of the night was the winner in a 5-2 Penticton Vees victory over the visiting Nanaimo Clippers. Mellor opened the scoring but Josh Bryan tied it for the Clips early in the second. Louie Nanne restored the Vees lead and Mellor had the insurance late in the second. Greg Fraser scored in the third for Nanaimo but late goals by Jedd Soleway and Cody DePourcq clinched it for Penticton.
