MADISON, Wis. (Nov. 4) – Alaska Anchorage forward Tommy Grant, who scored three goals in the Seawolves’ Halloween weekend series split at league rival Michigan Tech, has been named the the Red Baron Western Collegiate Hockey Association's Offensive Player of the Week.

Last Friday in Houghton, Mich., with UAA trailing 2-0 after the first period, Grant scored back-to-back goals in the second period to pull his team even in an eventual 4-2 setback.

Then, on Saturday, Grant scored the game-winning goal at 3:42 of the third period as the Seawolves came back to gain a split in the series with a 2-1 road victory over MTU.

In addition to his three goals, Grant also had nine shots on goal in the series and earned a +1 plus/minus rating.

The 6-2, 190-pound sophomore from North Vancouver, British Columbia, is tied for the lead in goal scoring among Western Collegiate Hockey Association players this season with six. With three assists and nine total points, Grant has already surpassed his scoring numbers from his freshman year (5-2-7) in all three categories.

UAA (5-2-1, 2-1-1 WCHA) returns to action Friday and Saturday when its hosts No. 13 Minnesota State at Sullivan Arena. The puck drops at 7:07 p.m. both nights.
