BCHL Playoff recap – Wednesday, April 4

Andre Ghantous scored twice in the first period for the Trail Smoke Eaters, making the difference in a 5-2 home win that keeps them alive in their series against the Wenatchee Wild.

Ryan Murphy opened the scoring just 1:09 into the first for the home side and Ghantous followed with his pair of goals, just 2:51 apart in the middle of the first, to give Trail a lead they would not relinquish.

Zak Galambos got Wenatchee on the board early in the second and August Van Ungern got the visitors within one on a shorthanded goal 4:43 later but it would be the final puck to get past Adam Marcoux on the night.

Seth Barton restored Tral’s multi-goal advantage on a tally late in the middle frame

In the third, Levi Glasman rounded out the Smokies scoring with his ninth of the postseason.

Marcoux wound up with 38 saves for the win while Austin Park stopped 19 for Wenatchee.

Game 5 is set for Friday at 7:05 p.m. in Wenatchee.
