Getting the first two starts of his NCAA career, Angus Redmond showed he was more than equal to the task.
The Salmon Arm Silverbacks alum won both games, including a shutout, as Michigan Tech swept a weekend home-and-home series against rival Northern Michigan.
In Friday’s first game, Redmond stopped all 19 shots that came his way in a 2-0 Huskies win. He turned aside 29 of 30 pucks the next night as Tech claimed a 5-1 road win. Redmond wound up with 48 saves on 49 shots for a .980 save percentage. At one point on the weekend, he went 100 minutes and 10 seconds without allowing a goal.
Over three full BCHL seasons with the Silverbacks and part of a fourth, Redmond compiled a record of 59-61-7 to go along with a 2.94 goals-against average, .906 save percentage and eight career shutouts.
