Burston commits to Ivy League Brown

BurstonColin Burston went from his hometown of Winnipeg to Wenatchee for Junior hockey in search of an NCAA opportunity and now he’s found one that will take him to the Ivy League.

Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island will be home for Burston, starting next season.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound forward has 10 goals and 11 assists in 16 games so far this season. He joined the Wild partway through last season and has amassed 13-24-37 in 38 career BCHL games to go along with 48 penalty minutes.

At Brown, Burston will join a Bears program that currently features six BCHL alums in Connor Wynne, Ben Tegtmeyer, Zack Pryzbek, Josh McArdle, Nolan Aibel and Zach Giuttari.

Brown competes in the NCAA’s Div. I ECAC Hockey conference. The other teams in their conference are Cornell, Dartmouth, Union, Quinnipiac, St. Lawrence, Clarkson, Princeton, Yale, RPI, Colgate and Harvard.
