Alberni’s Bailey named BCHL POW

Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Casey Bailey has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending October 31st, the league announced Monday.

Bailey helped lead the Alberni Valley to four of a possible six points in three weekend games. On Friday, the 19-year old scored twice — including the tying goal late in regulation — in the Bulldogs' 4-3 overtime victory over Cowichan Valley. The next night he collected a hat trick and four points in an 8-4 triumph over the Capitals. Bailey then closed out the week with a goal in a narrow loss to Nanaimo.

Overall, Bailey finished the week with five goals and two assists in three games. He now sits on 10 goals and 11 assists for the season, which are good for second on the Bulldogs in scoring.

Honourable mentions for this week's award include Prince George Spruce Kings netminder Alex Wright, Powell River Kings defenceman Justin Dasilva and Penticton Vees forward Joey Holka.
