BCHL and Save-On-Foods to host community skate on outdoor rink at 60th Anniversary event

As part of the BCHL’s 60th Anniversary event in Penticton Jan. 20 to 22, the league has partnered with Save-On-Foods to present a community skate this Saturday night on the outdoor rink after the All-Star festivities.

The skate is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., after the All-Star Tournament concludes, and wrap up at 8:30 p.m.

“Save-On-Foods has been a valuable partner to the BCHL since the 2020-21 season and has been heavily involved in the various community aspects the league has to offer,” said BCHL Manager of Media & Communications Jesse Adamson. “These outdoor skates are the perfect chance for us to bring the community together and put a cap on what is sure to be a great day on the outdoor rink.”

Save-On-Foods team members will be on site serving hot chocolate, giving away prizes and more.

“Save-On-Foods has a long history of giving back to our communities in meaningful ways, and this is another great example of it,” said Mike Jakubowski, Penticton Store Manager. “We’re proud to partner with the BCHL to bring such a unique event to the region and look forward to making memories alongside Okanagan hockey fans.”

In addition to the main event on Saturday, there will also be community skates held on Friday, Jan. 20 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
