The BCHL and the Vancouver Canucks have revealed the community events taking place during the 2024 BCHL Showcase Oct. 13 to 17 in Abbotsford and Chilliwack.
There will be four marquee games where the Canucks will host a ‘Party on the Plaza’ event for the community, starting 1.5 hours before puck drop.
Games in Abbotsford will be held at the Abbotsford Centre, home of the Canucks American Hockey League affiliate, while the Chilliwack games take place at the Chilliwack Coliseum, home of the BCHL’s Chiefs.
The marquee games include:
- Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. (event opener): Cowichan Valley Capitals vs. Vernon Vipers (Abbotsford)
- Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m.: West Kelowna Warriors vs. Chilliwack Chiefs (Chilliwack)
- Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.: Okotoks Oilers vs. Penticton Vees (Abbotsford)
- Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. (event closer): Chilliwack Chiefs vs. Spruce Grove Saints (Chilliwack)
All ‘Party on the Plaza’ events will include Canucks alumni, team mascot Fin and engaging activities, including shooter tutor inflatables, yard games (axe throwing and Connect 4), a photo booth, music and more.
In-game presentations will include Canucks PA Announcer Al Murdoch, Canucks DJ, Canucks in-game host, a siren crank, and more!
Tuesday in Abbotsford will include an Archway Food Drive. By donating, fans will be entered to win various Canucks prizing. The Chilliwack events on Tuesday and Thursday will feature ball hockey games and alumni signings. Kirk McLean and other notable Canucks alumni will be in attendance throughout the week.
