Throughout the season, players from all BCHL teams pay visits to elementary schools in their communities to meet youngsters and share the enjoyment of reading.
Several teams got in on the literacy initiative this week but participating in the Vancouver Sun's Raise-A-Reader day the morning of Sept. 26.
The Coquitlam Express, Alberni Valley Bulldogs, Nanaimo Clippers and Surrey Eagles were up early to meet and greet fans and distribute newspapers in their communities.

Look for BCHL players coming to schools in your neighbourhood through the rest of the season.
