Ryley Risling scored the overtime winner for the Penticton Vees in a 4-3 come-from-behind win on home ice over the Chilliwack Chiefs that gives Penticton a 3-1 series lead in the Fred Page Cup BCHL Finals.
The visitors worked their way to a 3-0 as they got goals in the opening frame from Kale Kane and Connor McCarthy on the power play. They extended the lead in the second when Jordan Kawaguchi notched his 16th goal of the postseason.
But that would be the last puck to get past Mat Robson on the night. Penticton started their rally with a Grant Cruikshank goal just past the midway point of the middle frame and they got within a goal just 1:47 later when Taylor Ward tallied.
Affiliate Cassidy Bowes continued his strong play for Penticton as he scored the tying goal at 5:51 of the third setting the stage for overtime. Not much of the extra session was needed with Risling potting the winner at 2:06 of OT to give the Vees the win.
Robson made 18 saves for the win while Mark Sinclair stopped 30 for the Chiefs. Game 5 goes Saturday in a 7 p.m. start in Chilliwack.
