BCHL Saturday: Garrett paces ‘Dogs to win

It was another busy night in the BCHL as exhibition play continued.  No less than 6 games were on the schedule Saturday night – with one seeing BCHL overtime at its best.

On the coast, the Cowichan Valley Capitals were 4-3 winners over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.  Jackson Garrett scored twice to pace the Caps while Matthew Hatch scored once and added a single assist for the Bulldogs.

In Trail – the Brooks Bandits, Penticton Vees, Powell River Kings, and Trail Smoke Eaters continued their four team tournament.  The Penticton Vees downed the Brooks Bandits 5-2 in the afternoon game while the night game saw the Kings and Smokies skate through a rounds of overtime – including three pentalty shots without deciding a winner.  The game ended in a 4-4 tie.

In Quesnel. the hometown Millionaires scored twice on the power-play and once shorthanded to skate to a 4-2 win over the Williams Lake Timberwolves.  Sam Higgins, Tyler French, Trevor Hertz, and Breyden Decock all tallied for the Mills.

In Salmon Arm, the visiting Vernon Vipers were big winners over the SilverBacks as they skated to a 9-2 win.  Cory Kane scored once and added a pair of assists in the win while Dylan Walchuk scored twice.

There are four games on the BCHL Exhibition schedule for Sunday.
