Brooks Bandits forward Logan Sawyer has been named the Alberta Division Player of the Week.

The 2006-born prospect for the upcoming NHL Draft had six points in two Bandits wins last week to lead all players in scoring.

On Friday night, Sawyer scored twice and added a helper in a dramatic overtime road win over the Okotoks Oilers. He entered the third period without a point, but chipped in with a goal and a helper to give Brooks a two-goal advantage. The Oilers came back to force extra time, which setup Sawyer to score the winner 2:12 into the fourth period.

The Bandits were back in action on Saturday at home against the Blackfalds Bulldogs. Sawyer registered his second straight three-point performance with a goal and two assists in a 9-2 victory.

The Orangeville, Ont. native now has 14 points in 12 BCHL games, good enough for fifth most in the Alberta Division.
