It’s been a well-worn path from Powell River to the NCAA and Kings defenceman Adam Brubacher is the latest to travel it.
Brubacher has committed to play Div. I hockey next season for the Tigers of Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
The blueliner has earned a reputation this season, which will be his lone BCHL campaign, for a big shot and big production from the blueline. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Brubacher has 18 goals and 26 assists on the season including five goals and seven assists in 12 games since coming to Powell River from Prince George.
At RIT, the native of Elmira, Ont. will be joining a program that competes in the NCAA’s Atlantic Hockey Association along with AIC, Army West Point, Bentley, Air Force, Sacred Heart, Holy Cross, Niagara, Canisius, Robert Morris and Mercyhurst.
The Tigers roster currently includes former BCHLers Dan Schuler, Josh Mitchell, Myles Powell, Todd Skirving, Garrett McMullen, Alexander Perron-Fontaine and Christian Short. Former Kings star Matt Garbowsky was the Tigers captain last season before graduating to pro hockey.
