Cowichan Valley Capitals forward Matt Hudie has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending February 14, the league announced Tuesday.
Hudie helped the Caps to four of a possible six points putting up five goals and an assist along the way. The native of Westland, Michigan opened his week with a goal in a 7-4 loss to Nanaimo but upped the ante to a pair of goals, including the game-winner, plus an assist for 1st Star in a 4-2 win over Merritt. The 6-foot, 180-pound forward had two more goals, and another game-winning tally, in a 3-1 win over Chilliwack that earned him 2nd Star and, more importantly, clinched a playoff berth for the Caps.
