Bulldogs name Princeton-bound Kerr captain for 2008

18-year old forward James Kerr has been named Captain of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs for the 2008-2009 season. Last season with the Bulldogs, James scored 14 goals and added 29 assists in 60 games.

The Penticton, B.C. native was a natural choice for Coaches Bryant Perrier and Chris Shaw.

“James has prepared himself mentally and physically in the off-season to take on a leadership role with our club,” Bulldogs head coach Bryant Perrier said. “He will lead our team by the excellent example he sets every day. His tremendous work ethic in the gym, during practice and during games will be infectious throughout our entire organization.”

Kerr is entering his final season with the Bulldogs before attending Princeton to suit up for the Tigers in 2009.

The team also announced that 20-year old forward Chris Moulson will serve as an Assistant Captain for the 2008-2009 season.

The 5’11”, Mississauga Ontario, native is entering his second campaign with the Bulldogs. Last season, Chris notched 11 goals and 22 assists through 58 games. Upon completion of his junior career, Chris will be joining the Cornell University Big Red of the Ivy League.

“Chris is a veteran player that is a natural leader,” Perrier said. “He is well respected by his teammates and by our organization. He conducts himself in a professional manner that,we as an organization are proud of.”
