Canucks sign former Clipper Tanner Glass

British Columbia Hockey League graduate Tanner Glass has signed a two-way contract with the Vancouver Canucks, the team announced this week.

Glass played his junior hockey with the Nanaimo Clippers prior to embarking on a four-year NCAA career at Dartmouth University. The 25-year old compiled 82 points and 198 penalty minutes with the Big Green in 124 games.

Originally drafted by the Florida Panthers out of the BCHL in 2003, Glass has earned a reputation as a hard-nosed forward. In 44 total games in Florida, he has accumulated two points and 46 minutes in penalties. He has also totalled 24 points in parts of two seasons played with the American Hockey League's Rochester Americans, who are the Panthers' top minor league affiliate.

Glass will compete for a spot on the Canucks when training camp opens in September.
