The Chilliwack Chiefs are pleased to announce defenseman Matthew Hutchinson has committed to the State University of New York at Geneseo for the 2012-13 season.
Hutchinson, a North Vancouver native, was a steady rearguard in his time in the BCHL and started this past season with the Coquitlam Express before joining Chilliwack in November.
The 6-foot-1, 196-pound blueliner appeared in 131 BCHL games in his career and 10 more in the playoffs.
The Blue Knights are an NCAA Div. III hockey program. Other BCHL alums playing on the team include Colin De Jersey, Ryan Bulach, Zach Martin, Stefan Decosse, David Arduin, Carson Schell and Rich Manley.
