Chiefs’ Elias commits to Western Michigan

Langley Chiefs forward Trevor Elias has committed to attend the University of Western Michigan, the club announced Tuesday.

Elias, who is known as one of the fastest players in the BCHL, has become a dynamic offensive force this season playing on a line with Milos Gordic and Derek Grant.

Before a freak injury sidelined him for just over a month, the Calgary native was on pace for 100 points in his third year with the Chiefs. In his return to the Langley lineup last night, Elias made an immediate impact and contributed two assists.

“Trevor is someone who I don’t think gets the credit he deserves for everything he does,” Chiefs associate coach Barry Wolff says. “For two years he has been used on the power play and penalty kill as well as seeing a ton of even strength ice – and he excels at both ends.”

Arguably the most exciting player in the BCHL, Elias will take his game breaking skills with him to play for the Broncos next season. Western Michigan is coached by former professional hockey player Jim Culhane, who has coached the Broncos for ten seasons.

On behalf of the entire Langley Chiefs organization we would like to congratulate Trevor on this achievement and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
