CHILLIWACK – The Chiefs Development Group is pleased to announce this inaugural event at Prospera Centre to kick off the Grand Opening weekend that will feature a concert, Fan Fest, and the Chilliwack Chiefs Home Opener. The Chiefs called the Old Chilliwack Coliseum home for 14 years and now it is time to begin a new era of Junior Hockey and Entertainment at Prospera Centre!
We are very excited to present the Fraser Valley with a stellar lineup of Canadian artists as part of this fantastic new facility’s Grand Opening concert: Jann Arden, Leahy, and Adam Gregory.
JANN ARDEN
Born in Calgary, Alberta, Jann Arden is undoubtedly one of Canada’s most precious resources. Admired worldwide for her singing and song writing skills, she artfully conveys real-life experiences, and depths of emotion, through her insightful lyrics. With seven CD’s, 14 tops ten singles, a substantial collection of awards and honours and years of charity work, Arden is always high in demand.
It has been said that Arden can bring an audience to the verge of tears through a song only to have them rolling in the aisles moments later with her off-the-cuff comedy. It’s that juxtaposition that has earned Arden a legion of loyal fans in her native Canada.
LEAHY
Leahy, the awe-inspiring eight-member brother and sister act from Canada, are a whirlwind triple-threat of fiddle-driven music, dance, and vocals augmented by keyboards and percussion who leave onlookers breathless from the moment they hit the stage. At the centre of this exceptional group is the oldest brother, Donnell, who is internationally proclaimed as one of the best fiddle players on the planet. There is a dynamic that takes place with Donnell, live or on record, that connects eight different musicians and the audience with genuine, spontaneous, and spectacular energy and excitement.
ADAM GREGORY
Adam Gregory’s s debut CD, The Way I’m Made’, was released when he was only 14. It established Adam as an emerging star, not only in country music, but also in the mainstream music scene. The album earned Adam the Prairie Music Award for “Outstanding Country Music Recording,” in September 2001. Adam won the Canadian Radio Music Award for “Best New Country Artist” for “Horseshoes,” the first single from the album, at the March, 2001 ceremonies during Canadian Music Week. ‘The Way I’m Made was also nominated for two Juno Awards and four Canadian Country Music Awards. The four singles from the album: “Horseshoes,” “Only Know I Do,” “No Vacancy,” and “Big Star,” were top ten hits at radio and all four videos made to accompany the singles were #1 at CMT. He has completed two tours with the Wilkinsons, opened up for Paul Brandt and Lonestar, and has been asked to perform at numerous key events across Canada, including The Calgary Stampede, Hanna Rodeo, the Williams Lake Stampede, Big Valley Jamboree, Merritt Mountain Festival, and the Havelock Country Jamboree, to name a few. Now at 19, Adam’s second CD ‘Workin’ On It’, has been very well received across Canada as his fan base continues to grow.
