Christie Will Suit Up For Hometown Bisons

Langley Hornets are pleased to announce that the teams MVP Steve Christie has chosen the  University of Manitoba Bisons , and begins his CIS career in this fall in his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Christie received MVP honors in 04-05 after his outstanding goaltending was a bright spot for the Langley BCHL team. Steve will have an opportunity to join a University of Manitoba Hockey program that finished 3rd in the CIS National Championship last spring in Edmonton, and is guided by veteran Head Coach Mike Sirant.

“Steve will flourish in the hockey environment of University Hockey. He is ready for the next challenge, and the Hornets organization is pleased he has chosen a quality program to combine academics and hockey. Their hockey program has a tradition of developing goalies , and Steve has the potential to become a strong contender for  playing time during his Bison hockey career. We wish Steve all the best of success and thank him for his contribution last season!”  , Langley Head Coach Mike Coflin commented. “His many fans in our community will enjoy watching his progress.”
