CJHL Weekly Top 20

cjhl-top204CALGARY, Alta. (Monday, Feb. 6, 2017) – With a month or so remaining in the respective regular season schedules in the Canadian Junior Hockey League, we’re heading into the home stretch as the clubs gear up for the playoffs.

The Brooks Bandits (AJHL) had a lengthy winning streak come to an end last week, but with 40 victories they remain No. 1 in the 132-team CJHL.

MHL action sees the Pictou County Weeks Crushers remaining on top with the Yarmouth Jr. A Mariners four points in arrears.

Les Cobras de Terrebonne and Collège Français de Longueuil are deadlocked in terms of winning percentage in the LHJAAAQ as both clubs remain among the CJHL’s elite.

Over in the CCHL, the Carleton Place Canadians are starting to open a solid cushion over both the Cornwall Colts and Ottawa Jr. A Senators.

It remains tight in the OJHL with the Georgetown Raiders and the Trenton Golden Hawks neck-and-neck in the quest for first place overall there.

The Powassan Voodoos are still leading the way in the NOJHL with the Soo Thunderbirds close and the Cochrane Crunch having won 10 straight.

Despite a blemish to their record last week the Dryden GM Ice Dogs continue to pace the SIJHL standings.

Joining Brooks with 40 victories, the MHL-leading Steinbach Pistons are still holding a comfortable edge on the Winkler Flyers, Selkirk Steelers and OCN Blizzard.

The Battlefords North Stars are still shining in the SJHL, with them, and the Flin Flon Bombers seeing the surging Nipawin Hawks boasting 11 consecutive triumphs and also having games in hand.

The Bandits’ 84 points have them closing in on the AJHL’s regular season crown as they stay nicely in front of the Whitecourt Wolverines and Fort McMurray Oil Barons.

Over on the West Coast, the Wenatchee Wild still lead the pack in the BCHL, but the Chilliwack Chiefs have won five straight and are 14-1 in their past 15 while the Victoria Grizzlies are starting to claw their way up the league standings as well.
