Clippers forward Blain named BC Hockey League Player of the Week

Nanaimo Clippers forward Luc Olivier Blain has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending November 29th, the league announced Monday.

Blain helped lead the Clippers to a pair of road wins during the week. On Friday, he scored once and assisted on two other goals as Nanaimo topped the Langley Chiefs by a 5-4 score. One night later, the 20-year old scored his second goal of the week and set up three other Clippers markers in an 8-3 victory over the Burnaby Express.

Blain totalled two goals and seven points in two games, and was named the first star of Friday's win in Langley. The Longueuil, Quebec product has now scored 13 goals and 31 points in 29 games, and has been a key to a November in which the Clippers recorded a record of 9-1-1.

Honourable mentions for the week's award included Nanaimo's Teal Burns, Merritt's Jeff Zmurchyk, Powell River's Andrew Pettitt and Penticton's Denver Manderson.

Blain and the Clippers return to the ice on Wednesday when they host the Victoria Grizzlies in the first game of a four-game homestand.
