Clippers product Greening sees time with Ottawa Senators

Former Nanaimo Clipper forward Colin Greening made his NHL debut with the Ottawa Senators at the beginning of February and was recalled for the club's most recent two games against Boston and Toronto.

The 6-foot-3, 211-pound native of St. John's, Newfoundland saw just over 10 minutes of ice time in Ottawa's 1-0 shootout win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday, the most playing time he's seen in three games with the Sens. On the season, he's registered three hits, a shot and is 50 per cent in the face off circle.

“We are all very excited and proud of Colin and wish him much success at the NHL level,” said Clippers coach Bill Bestwick. “He is most deserving and has worked extremely hard to reach his ultimate goal.”

Greening spent the 2005-06 campaign in Nanaimo and registered 27 goals and 35 assists in 56 games. He then went on to Cornell University in the Ivy League where he produced 55 goals and 63 assists in four seasons.
