Dias hot playoff start earns him Player of the Week nod

Victoria Grizzlies forward Madison Dias has been named the British Columbia Hockey League Player of the Week for the week ending February 27, the league announced Monday.

Dias produced seven points to take the early playoff scoring lead and helped the Grizz to a 2-0 series lead on the Nanaimo Clippers. He scored twice in a 9-1 victory in Game 1 including a shorthanded marker to take third star. He followed that with a goal and three assists in Game 2's 5-3 triumph, earning second star.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Penticton native is draft-eligible this season and was one of seven BCHL players listed by NHL Central Scouting for the June Entry Draft. Dias has also secured a scholarship to Cornell for the coming season.
