Express grad Herold commits to Elmira College for 2010/11 season

The British Columbia Hockey League's Coquitlam Express are pleased to announce that graduating forward Dylan Herold has committed to attend Elmire College and suit up for the NCAA Division III Soraing Eagles hockey program for the 2010/11 season.

Herold recently concluded his junior hockey career with the Express, who he captained during the 2009/10 campaign. The 21-year old set career highs with 22 goals and 33 points last season while representing the team at the 2010 BCHL All-Star Game in Nanaimo.

The Tsawassen, B.C. product totalled 214 BCHL games over four seasons split between the Trail Smoke Eaters, Merritt Centennials and Express. He scored 48 goals and added 45 assists over that span.

“I'm thrilled that Dylan has secured an NCAA opportunity and that he'll have the chance to continue his hockey career at Elmira College,” says Express general manager Darcy Rota. “Dylan is a tremendous young man who brought great leadership and work ethic to our club.”

Herold is the fourth Express player with a university or college commitment, joining fellow forwards Rich Manley (SUNY Geneseo) and Colby Kulhanek (Simon Fraser University), as well as defenceman Jimmy Geerin (Robert Morris University).
