Express grad McNeely hits college career milestone

Burnaby Express grad and Northeastern University Huskies captain Tyler McNeely joined a select group on the weekend by scoring his 100th career point.

A senior, McNeely became the 46th member of Northeastern hockey 100-point club. The Burnaby, B.C. native assisted on fellow BCHL product Wade MacLeod’s third-period power play goal in a 6-3 loss to the University of New Hampshire.

McNeely now has 43 goals and 57 assists in Huskies colours and has played 136 career games.

As a member of the Express, McNeely was part of the RBC Cup national championship team in 2006. The 23-year-old spent three full seasons in the BCHL and three games of another, tallying 74 goals and 141 assists for 215 points in 161 regular season games.

He was one of six BCHL grads whose name was put forward in January for Hobey Baker voting to name the NCAA's top hockey player.
