The Prince George Spruce Kings would like to congratulate Barbara and Richard Reid of Prince George, the first winners in the 29th Annual Spruce Kings Show Home Lottery. On Sunday November 7, 2010, ticket number 0157 was drawn for the early bird prize of a Vancouver Canucks Get-Away from Japatedon Travel & Cruises.
The first of thirteen early bird prize draws was made at the Show Home located at 2620 Links Drive in the Aberdeen Glen Golf Course Subdivision. The Vancouver Canucks Get-Away early bird prize is valued at $1000.00 and includes departure from Prince George with arrangements made through Japatedon Travel & Cruises in Prince George.
“They were very excited,” said Show Home Lottery manager Jim Young after advising the couple over the phone of their winning ticket. “They bought the ticket after visiting the Show Home in the very first week that it was open for viewing.”
A record number of tickets were purchased leading up to the first early bird draw resulting in over 2100 tickets being in the draw barrel for the first draw. The next early bird prize – a season ticket package for the Spruce Kings 2011-12 BCHL season valued at $900 – will be awarded on Sunday November 21, 2010.
Other early bird prizes include a Vegas Get-Away, Mexican Riveria Cruise and a Disney Family Vacation from Japatedon Travel & Cruises as well as gift cards from Rona and Canadian Tire, a high definition television from the Northern Hardware and two cash draws of $2,500 each.
The grand prize is the Show Home from Fair Value Homes valued at $392,500 (HST and property tax included) located at 2620 Links Drive in the Aberdeen Glen Subdivision featuring many touches from local businesses. Included with the house is the fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, washer, dryer and a high definition television from the Northern Hardware.
A total of 8,500 tickets are available for purchase in the annual lottery in support of the community owned Prince George Spruce Kings Junior `A’ Hockey Club.
