Ginn garners more rookie honours with Holy Cross

Victoria Grizzlies product Matt Ginn went 7-0-1 in the month of February with a 1.61 goals against average and a .937 save percentage to earn the Atlantic Hockey Association Rookie of the Month nod.

The Lindsay, Ont. native won AHA Rookie of the Week honors twice in February. He went 2-0-0 in the two-game series versus AIC on Feb. 3-4 as he only allowed one goal and posted 53 saves. Ginn tallied a 0.50 goals against average and a .981 save percentage. He made 28 saves in the 6-1 win on Friday, while on Saturday he posted 25 saves and tallied his second shutout of the season in the 4-0 victory.

He went 2-0-0 in the two-game series versus Sacred Heart on Feb. 17-18 as he only allowed three goals and posted 36 saves. He tallied a 1.50 goals against average and a .923 save percentage. Ginn made 11 saves in the 6-1 win on Friday, while on Saturday he posted 25 saves in the 3-2 victory.

This season he was also named the AHA Goalie of the Week on Dec. 5 and was the AHA Rookie of the Month for December. Ginn has made 526 saves and is 14-6-1 (.682) this season. His .682 winning percentage leads Atlantic Hockey and is seventh in the country. His 14 wins are tied for fourth all-time for a Division I season at the school.
