Ginn gets another rookie nod for Crusaders

Former Victoria Grizzlies netminder and Holy Cross Crusaders freshman Matt Ginn has collected another Rookie of the Week honour in the Atlantic Hockey Conference.

Ginn has been named the Team Travel USA Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week for his performance in wins versus Sacred Heart on Feb. 17 and 18. He went 2-0-0 in the two-game series as he only allowed three goals and posted 36 saves. He tallied a 1.50 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage. This is the second time this season he has been named Rookie of the Week as he also won it on Feb. 6, while this is his third weekly honor as he earned Goalie of the Week accolades on Dec. 5. He was also named the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Month for December.

Ginn made 11 saves in the 6-1 win on Friday, while on Saturday he posted 25 saves in the 3-2 victory. During the Crusaders' current six-game winning streak, he is 6-0-0 as he has only allowed seven goals for a 1.17 goals-against average and a .952 save percentage. Ginn has made 474 saves and is 13-6-1 (.675) this season. His 13 wins are tied for fifth all-time for a Division I season at the school.
