Gosiewski headed to Bentley

Wenatchee Wild forward Matt Gosiewski should have a stronger contingent of friends and family watching him play next year as he will be situated much closer to home because he has committed to play for the Bentley University Falcons for the 2019-20 season.

Bentley is located in Waltham, Mass., about three hours away from his hometown of Wilton, Conn., which means his family and friends won’t have to make the cross-continent trip to watch him play, like they would to watch him play in Wenatchee.

Gosiewski is enjoying a breakout season in his second stint in the BCHL. He has totaled 29 points (18 goals, 11 assists) in 29 games, already more than doubling his total of 24 points he put up in his previous season in the league in 2016-17 when he played 36 games for the Penticton Vees. In total, the 20-year-old has 41 points in 61 career regular-season games.

Bentley is an NCAA Division I program playing in the Atlantic Hockey conference along with Air Force, American International, Army West Point, Canisius, Holy Cross, Mercyhurst, Niagara, Robert Morris, Rochester Institute of Technology and Sacred Heart.

The Falcons roster this year features several BCHL alums, including David Giunta, Luke Santerno, Jake Kauppila, Jonathan Desbiens, Cody DePourq and Aidan Pelino.

Alberni Valley Bulldogs defenceman Marcus Walter is also committed to Bentley for the 2019-20 season.
