Grant led all league players with five points last weekend while helping the Seawolves to a victory and one-goal overtime defeat against defending league champion and NCAA No. 3-ranked Colorado College.
Grant also earned the weekly offensive honor back on Nov. 4.
A 6-2, 190-pound sophomore from North Vancouver, B.C., Grant scored a third period insurance goal and assisted on two others for three points last Friday (Nov. 21) as Alaska Anchorage earned a 4-2 victory over the visiting Tigers at Sullivan Arena. One of his two assists came on teammate
Then last Saturday (Nov. 22) night, in a 4-3 overtime loss to CC, Grant capped off an impressive series with two more goals, tallying a game-tying goal in the second period and then a shorthanded goal at 14:41 of the third that evened the score at 3-3. In addition to his five points, Grant also fired seven shots on goal in the series and earned a +2 plus/minus rating.
On the 2008-09 season, Grant is tied for sixth in scoring overall among WCHA players with a league-best 10 goals, seven assists and 17 points in 14 games played.
The 19th-ranked Seawolves are 7-5-2 overall. UAA will have the weekend off before traveling to Wisconsin on Dec. 5-6 for a WCHA series.
