Interior Playoff Update: Vees, Spruce Kings deadlocked

The Penticton Vees and Prince George Spruce Kings are headed to a fifth and deciding game in their elimination round series on Wednesday night after Prince George won for consecutive nights on home ice to draw even at two games a piece.

Once again, the line of Sam Muchalla, Sean Ambrosie and Andrew Pickering led the way for the Spruce Kings in a 5-2 victory. Muchalla scored twice, including a first period short-handed tally that out his team out to a quick 2-0 lead. Ambrosie assisted on that goal and two others while adding a goal of his own late in the second period that brought his team's lead back to two goals.

Adam Zamec and Jimmy Geerin replied with goals for Penticton, while Curtis McKenzie continued his strong series with his fifth point.

Kevin Genoe stopped 22 shots in net for Prince George, who seemed to solve Vees netminder Jordan White with a five-goal performance.

With the series tied at 2-2, the teams return to Penticton tonight to decide who will move on to face Vernon in the Interior Conference semi-finals, which begin Friday.
