Interior Playoff Update: Vipers take series lead on SiverBack turf

After splitting games in Vernon the SilverBacks and Vipers took the Interior Conference Finals to Salmon Arm, where the Vipers produced a shutout in SilverBacks territory.

A short handed empty net goal sealed the deal with 35 seconds left in the third period, as the Vipers overtook the SilverBacks 3-0 in the game, and are now up 2-1 in the series.

Though both teams recorded 29 shots on goal, Vernon's goalie Andrew Hammond was recognized as the games first star for the shutout, win and an assist on Connor Jones' empty netter.

Viper Cory Kane received second star honours for netting the opening goal during the second period. And Silverback Justin Cseter was ranked third star on the night.

Wednesday will bring with it game four; but no matter the outcome, this series will be returning to Vernon for a game five on Friday night.
