Shane Kelly’s college hockey career will take flight at Air Force starting in 2018.
The Vernon Vipers defenceman will play another BCHL season before heading to the NCAA Div. I program. In 56 games this season, his first in the BCHL, the 6-foot-5, 215-pound rearguard put up three goals and nine assists to go along with 97 penalty minutes.
Kelly is one of three current BCHLers committed to Air Force, along with West Kelowna Warriors defenceman Tyler Jutting and Surrey Eagles forward Robert Johnson.
Air Force is located in Colorado Springs and the Falcons’ current roster features BCHL alums Billy Christopoulos and Matt Serratore.
The Falcons compete in the NCAA’s Atlantic Hockey Association along with Bentley, RIT, Robert Morris, AIC, Army, Holy Cross, Niagara, Sacred Heart, Mercyhurst and Canisius.
