Kings netminder Magnus earns NCAA future with Sacred Heart

At 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, Powell River Kings goaltender Brett Magnus takes up a lot of the net. He'll also be taking his game to the NCAA Div. I ranks next season at Sacred Heart University.

Magnus committed to the Pioneers last week, though he has his focus currently on the Island Division semifinals against the Victoria Grizzlies.

The Montreal native posted a 24-21-1 mark this season, in what will be his only BCHL campaign. He recorded one shutout, a .907 save percentage and 3.23 goals-against average. He was the BCHL's Player of the Week in the first week of November.

At Sacred Heart, he'll join fellow BCHL alums Spencer Graboski, Josh Phillips and Coltyn Hansen.

Sacred Heart's campus is located in Milton, Connecticut. The Pioneers compete in the NCAA's Atlantic Hockey Association against schools such as Robert Morris, Air Force, RIT and Bentley.
