Kings’ Niddery commits to Ohio State

The British Columbia Hockey League's Powell River Kings are pleased to announce that forward and assistant captain Chad Niddery has committed to attend Ohio State University and suit up for the NCAA Division I Buckeyes  for the 2011/12 hockey season.

Hailing from Penticton, B.C, Niddery joined the Kings during the 2008/09 campaign and has been a key component to the roster ever since. This year, the 20-year old stands first in Kings’ scoring and 9th in the BCHL overall with 23 points through 14 games.

“We are very excited for Chad to attend Ohio State University,” says Kings head coach Kent Lewis. “He has worked very hard over the last four years to earn this opportunity. Ohio State is a great institution and the athletic program speaks for itself. We feel Chad will be a great addition to the university both on the ice and around the campus.”

Niddery chose Ohio State as a result of its highly established hockey program and for being an institution that is recognized for its strong academics. Chad looks forward to pursue his passion of the game while studying a four-year Business Management degree.
