MacLeod, MacMillan and Jones selected on Day 2 of NHL Entry Draft

A trio of British Columbia Hockey League players were selected on the second day of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Mark MacMillan was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the fourth round, 113th overall. MacMillan was the Coastal Conference's Rookie of the Year following a 26-goal, 80-point season. He also helped Alberni Valley to the Conference Finals, scoring 14 points in series against the Nanaimo Clippers and Powell River Kings.

Penticton Vees defenceman Isaac MacLeod was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the fifth round of the draft, 136th overall. The Boston College commit recorded 23 assists in his first full BCHL season and suited up in 14 playoff games in Penticton's Interior Conference Finals run.

Vernon Vipers centre Kellen Jones was the final BCHL player selected after being chosen by the Edmonton Oilers in the seventh round, 202nd overall. Jones was a two-time Fred Page Cup and RBC Cup winner with the Vipers and starred for Team Canada West at the 2009 World Junior A Challenge. The Quinnipiac University-bound forward has scored 173 points in 154 career games in the league.

On Friday, former Penticton Vees forward Ryan Johansen was selected fourth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Port Moody, B.C. product was a 17-point scorer for the Vees in 2008/09 before starring for the WHL's Portland Winterhawks this past season.

16 picks later, current Vees star Beau Bennett was chosen by the Pittsburgh Penguins. The reigning Interior Conference Rookie of the Year became the highest-drafted Californian in the history of the NHL.
