In Nanaimo, Sam Mellor's third period hat trick put an exclamation point on a five-point afternoon and a 5-3 road victory over the Clippers. The line of Mellor, Travis St. Denis and Scott Jacklin combined for 14 points, helping the Smokies to a third win on their four-game Coastal road swing. Leo Fitzgerald scored twice in a losing cause for Nanaimo.

In Alberni Valley, Dru Morrison's second period goal proved to be the last of the day as the Bulldogs and Westside Warriors fought to a 3-3 draw. Mike King and Grayson Downing also tallied for the visitors, while Colton Sobchak, Sam Mitchell and Trent Dorais did the same for the 'Dawgs.
