Dru Morrison is taking the next step in his career.
After three years with the West Kelowna Warriors, Morrison is heading to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology to further his education.
Originally from Russell, Manitoba, the versatile and speedy forward arrived in Kelowna as a 15 year-old to attend the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy. His family soon joined him in the Okanagan, and the now-20 year-old still calls Kelowna home.
Morrison is still eligible to play one more year of Junior hockey, but has elected to head to Calgary now after being accepted into SAIT’s Power Engineering program this week.
“He’s a young man who’s already played three years of junior, and he’s ready to take the next step” says Warriors Head Coach Rylan Ferster about the commitment. “It’s about him now – about him moving forward in his life and his career.”
