Nowakowski’s star power lands him POW honours

Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Dylan Nowakowski has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 2 the league announced Tuesday.

Nowakowski led his team to a pair of wins in three games and factored in the 3 Stars each night. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Calgary product started his week off with two goals including the game winner, an assist and a 1st Star nod in a win over the Victoria Grizzlies. He took 2nd Star with a goal and two helpers in a win over the Cowichan Valley Capitals and rounded out the week with a 3rd Star effort, getting a goal and an assist in a loss to the Coquitlam Express.

Nowakowski had four goals and four assists in the three games and is now second in Bulldogs scoring on the campaign.

Honourable mentions this week go to Surrey Eagles goalie Andrew Hunt (2 games, 2 wins, 1.00 GAA, .972 sv. pct., one 1st Star), Powell River Kings forward Cohen Adair (3 games, 5 goals 2 assists, one 1st Star) and Vernon Vipers forward Adam Tambellini (2 games, 3 goals, 3 assists, OT winner, two 1st Stars).
