Only Two Teams Remain Undefeated

There are just two teams left undefeated after Friday night's action as the Nanaimo Clippers defeated the Cowichan Valley Capitals in a 7-6 goal fest at the Frank Crane Arena.  Victoria, Prince George, Westside, Penticton, Surrey, and Vernon were also winners on the evening.

In Nanaimo, the Clippers got two goals from Brad McConnell enroute to a 7-6 win over the Cowichan Valley Capitals.  The win moves the Clippers two points up on the Caps for the Coastal Conference lead.  It was the Caps first loss of the season.  Etric Filiou also enjoyed a two point evening as he recorded a goal and an assist while Warren Muir provided two helpers in the Clippers win.  Mickey Spencer scored three times for Capitals.

At the Bear Mountain Arena in Victoria, the Grizzlies nailed down their first win of the season as they defeated the Alberni Valley Bulldogs 5-4.  Keenan Desmet's goal with just 3:20 remaining in the third the 4-4 deadlock.  The Bulldogs had rallied with two third period goals to even the score.  Mike Hammond scored twice and added an assist to lead the Grizzlies.

The Surrey Eagles scored four unanswered goal to defeat the Burnaby Express at the South Surrey Arena.  Phile Magistrale and Adam Basford each recorded a goal and one assist in the win.  Andrew Hammond made 35 saves in the Ealges net to record the victory.  John Bokla and Scott Knowles each provided a pair of helpers for the Eagles.

The Vernon Vipers got two point performances out of Connor Jones and Rob Short to down the Langley Chiefs 5-4 at the Vernon Multiplex.  Dallas Goodrunning, Ryan Kakoske, and Hunter Bishop scored to go along with singles from Short and Jones.  Bryce Christianson stopped 30 of 34 shots to pick up the win in goal.

The Prince George Spruce Kings were winners on home ice over the Merritt Centennials in a rough and tumble affair as they came out on top by a 6-1 margin.  Jordy Christian led the way for the Spruce Kings with a goal and three assists, earning 1st star honors.  Zach Davies and Brandon Manning each scored once and added single assists.  Shane Mainprize was solid once again in the Prince George goal making 35 saves and allowing just one goal.

Zach Dalpe's hat-trick and one assist performance helped power the Penticton Vees past the Trail Smoke Eaters as they Vees took home a 7-3 win at the Memorial Arena.  Michael Guzzo scored twice and added an assist while Kyle McMurphy also found the net twice for the Vees.  Denver Manderson recorded three assists in the Penticton win.

The Westside Warriors were in Quesnel to take on the Millionaires and they were 3-1 winners over the hometown side.  Cory Pritz continues to have the hot hand as he scored once and added an assist to pace the Warriors.  Brad Plumton and Brady Mason were the other Westside goal getters while David Briere picked up the win in goal turning aside 19 Quesnel shots.
